Quarter One ratings for cable news

The ratings for the top 10 Cable newscasts are out, FOX NEWS ranked 2nd in primetime viewership in cable land right behind NBC-Universal's USA network. Primetime viewership for CNN is 17 and MSNBC 24 Dayside Fox ranked 5th, CNN ranked 14 and MSNBC 28.

TOTAL VIEWERSHIP ----Primetime
FNC - 2,250,000
CNN - 1,126,000
MSN - 950,000

KEEP in mind both FOX and MSNBC had big ratings ups while CNN had somewhat of a slip.

The top 10 cable news shows in the first quarter of 2009: *notice the first 9 are from FNC and MSNBC rounds it out.

2. Hannity: 2,579,000
3. Glenn Beck: 2,271,000
4. Special Report with Bret Baier: 2,092,000

I think if MSNBC just added another show to its line up it would solitify its stake as the second most watched news program on Cable behind FOX. The problem with MSNBC is that it's 10pm hour is a repeat of Countdown. Perhaps if it had a live show at 10pm it would do better. I think they should move the ED show to the 10pm hour. Why???? because the ED show prides itself as the show that sticks up for the working man. however the hour its on (6et/3pt), a lot of people are still working! so they don't have time to watch it! I don't know tell me what you think.
